Moving on

Farewell to Cottage Greene!
Cottage residents, Charles and Joyce, will very soon depart their forest community
and move into mountain territory. The little cottage which has been their home
for the past five ~ almost six years ~ is currently in disarray, as preparations
are underway for their move. Tomorrow packers will come to wrap and pack
and then on Friday connections with the outside world will cease for the time being
as boxes are loaded onto the truck and the residents switch over to hotel living for a while.
We have many fond memories of good times spent in this little part of the world. But it is time to move on to other things and make a new home. We hope that you will visit us once we are settled. ~M

Farewell to Petunia

They say cats have nine lives......but I contend that military cats have twice as many.

Cottage residents miss their
little kitty already.

They keep listening for her
mews at the doors and windows.

Keep expecting to see her face
looking in from the back patio.

But Petunia is in a good place with lots of company and loving care from her Aunt Esther.
Once she gets settled in and builds up trust all will be well and from latest reports from KY, she's almost right there. My last look at her before returning home she was poking her little face through the plastic blinds at the window looking out into the rain.

Farewell, Petunia! Till we meet again. ~M

Blazing Retreat

Leaves are dropping all around Cottage Greene, covering the wet, mossy ground with browns and golds. The steady rains and dropping temperatures assist in this state of decline. But one tree won't give up so easily. It always goes out with style; first it will flare up into blazing orange before finally letting loose of its hold on those many tiny leaves.

Retreat in Glory. ~M

Sunny Sunday in the woods

Sunshine brings such joy!
A bright, sunny morning it was on Sun-day
in the woods at Cottage Greene.

It's pumpkin time at Cottage Greene! These are but a few we have scattered about. Their colors match the bushes and trees outdoors as autumn quickly settles into the wildpark. Most mornings now are shrouded in fog and dewy, keeping Petunia close to home and enjoying her perch on the windowsill just above the heater. ~M

Sunshine stored

Cottage Greene has had some very cold weather the past few days.
Frosty windows on the Explorer and biting winds.
But Cottage residents managed to save a few apples off the yard's
apple tree. Indoors they make up a nice centerpiece.

Doesn't it present a nice view of sunshine stored?

Holiday Hall

Beautiful autumn colors are beginning to appear. Seemingly overnight, due to the fall in temperatures in the Cottage Greene environment. Petunia is spending more time indoors but still heading outside in the evenings, presumably to make her rounds in the community.
Yes, time to visit Holiday Hall and exchange the wreath.
