So my journey begins.....

With this blog as my companion I
will record my experiences in the days/weeks/months ahead
to share with others
and to create personal memories.

I spent all day Wednesday, December 3, at home watching the
steady snowfall turn the world
into a winter wonderland.
A perfect day to decorate my
tree and launch the Christmas spirit!

Thursday the weather turned to rain and the snow began to recede.
Friday morning the sky was overcast, the weather cool and rainy.
But soon that all changed.....

I was headed to Monterey, California for the 51st Annual
Military Libraries Workshop.

Once the aircraft climbed into the sky up above the clouds, the sun appeared and the skies were a beautiful blue.  Ten long hours later I landed in Southern California.
Saturday morning I awakened to sunshine and warm breezes.

What a delight!

To return to Monterey, California and the Pacific Ocean!

Also to have several wonderful days to share with Emily!!

~ flowers and green grass

~ boats parked out on the bay
 ~ cool wildlife......

A visit to Bubba Gump's where
Emily slipped her feet into
Forrest Gump's running shoes.

Tuesday, December 9 came all too quickly!  Emily spent the day out and about
while I spent the day indoors learning about Digital Natives....

That evening we had dinner at the Fish Hopper on Fisherman's wharf

and Friday, December 12 I headed home myself--back to
Wiesbaden, Germany.
