
Sunday afternoon CG and I visited a Roman Garrison at Saalburg. Not far from the wildpark, it was a nice trip for a bright, sunny afternoon. This Roman Garrison has been nicely restored and houses a museum with amazing artifacts. I was most impressed with the reproduction leather shoes on display. Why, just last summer Roman/Greek sandals were all the rage! Too bad I couldn't get a picture to show you....




Few photo ops here. In the background you see a covered well, one of about 100 dug around and within the compound.

Inside the compound was a lot of open space, now park grounds. We discovered this great tree while wandering and I couldn't resist
sitting on it for a picture. ~M

Mother, again beautiful photos! Man, those were some really nice "ruins!" Not like the ones we always went to see when I was little ;)
